From Mic to Money: The Episode About Marketing and Monetizing a Podcast
Catch Epi 40 of Insider Interviews with a PopCon Panel of Pros on Podcasting!
In the spirit of “make your content available everywhere” here’s my latest podcast episode via audio … and via video, just so I grab you where you are. And, FYI, this episode was built off a live on-site PANEL discussion, where I was, at PopCon in Indiana. And, it’s being repurposed as clips and social media. Which brings me to the topic:
Making, Marketing and Monetizing Podcasts.
I moderated Panelists Brittany Bigelow of Bigelow Creative, Dawn-Michelle Lewis of Salutations Media, filmmaker and podcast host Vergie Rodriguez, and James Starace of Focus 360/Creator Square.
Job one in marketing your show or any content, is that presence. That starts the flywheel of being able to monetize it because, well, more eyes, more ears, more brands love… But you know this.
What you might not know is how some of that applies specifically to podcasting. So, that’s why I gathered some pros and award winners to dish (including me! As well as the guy behind the camera, Ti King, all thanks to PopCon!)
We covered strategies for podcast concept development, the value of niche topics and micro-influencers, technical execution, and effective marketing strategies. The panel also explained their monetization techniques, from securing brand partnerships to leveraging subscriber models.
PS: The whole PopCon event was eye-opening, by the way, with more people lined up to meet the faces behind their favorite voices than the known faces playing TV characters!
